Madwoman!

I feel like when I am "home" I am running around like a mad woman!! Horticultural Day is tomorrow and this week has been filled with preperation. Poor Nick is running around even faster then I am.
Of course, at this moment I am at work, so the pace is a little slower.. but I still have so much to do to get ready.
So that is the big thing for this weekend... nothing else planned for me but the usual!!

I am excited. I have found some old classmates and friends on
MySpace! So if you found me from their Hi!!!! Oh.. and if I did know you in a past life and you want to trade blog links.. let me know!!

And as you can see I have been adding even more stuff to the sidebar of my blog. I really need to turn this into a three column blog to be fair to everything I have.

Otherwise have a good weekend all!!

BLINGO!

Ok... I know this is like the billionth post today... but I keep finding stuff..
Anyways... I just heard about this site:
Blingo
Basically it is a search engine like Google... but they take some of the money they make and invest it in prizes.. so you may randomly win something (movie tickets, Ipods, etc..).

And if you sign up with my link, if you win, I win the same thing.
Also, you can invite your friends, and if they win, you win!!!
So, it is worth a shot. You can only win in your first 10 searches of the day.. so try it out when you are looking for something!

Who do you blog for?

I was looking at the blog of someone I used to talk to online, Heather, we both "met" when we were ttc our first child. I do not talk to those ladies much anymore... seems like the more kids we had the less we talk... but once and awhile we converge back on our "group" and hear news about a new baby or job or other piece of info.

Who do you blog for quiz
1. Do you blog to make friends with people you will eventually meet in real life? Hmmm... I don't blog with the purpose that I become friends with a stranger and meet them eventually - though I would not be against that if I clicked with someone. Though part of the reason I blog is for those I have met online through other sites.. and these are people I have met or hope to meet IRL.

2. Do you blog for the sake of the B? Do you blog for yourself as a sanity-seeking form of online diary that is really neat cause it can link to all kinds of other things on the fancy Interweb? Sometimes I blog just to blog.. sometimes I blog to copy others.. and sometimes I blog as a diary of my thoughts.

3. Do you blog to discover people with whom you share a number of opinions about a topic? Yea... I love Slice of life blogs... and I hope to show you my slices.. and in turn find other people's slices.

4. Do you blog to attract readers? And, do you have an expectation of what sort of readers you have? Would you still blog if nobody read your blog? Yes and No. I would probably still blog if no one read it.. but there are days when I feel I have to because I have not blogged in awhile and I do know people read it. I just hope my readers aren't weird axe murders ;-)

5. Do you blog to distinguish yourself .. because you think blogging is cool and you think it makes you cool(er)? I do not do things to be cool. I may give in to the latest fad.. but I do things because I want to and because they make me happy. If you think I am cool... well.. then that's cool!

Bus ride...

I got to do something today I haven't done in awhile.  Samantha used to ride the bus to meet my Dad downtown where they would go to his house and spend the day.  They used to do this twice a week.  Well, then Dad had the shoulder surgery and Cancer spike, so it has been two months or so since we have had this opportunity.  Well Dad called last night and said he was ready to take Samantha all day.  So we rode the bus together this morning.  Sammy has gotten quite popular on the bus, and I know some of the riders had missed her, they were excited to see her today.  This also gave the two of us one-on-one time together.  Sitting there I almost forget how difficult the kids have heen and just focused on my "pretty baby".

Even on a rainy day, we can sometimes see some sun!!

Another night..

(I wrote the yesterday, btw.... I did not email the right way... doh!!)

I had another bad night last night. Nick was at a meeting (and then stayed out way too late) and I had the two kids.. I don't know what is wrong with me.. could it be PMS or stress or what....I have just had a hard time dealing with my kids. And I feel so bad that I am such a terrible parent. I know in the back of my head if I would be more patient or give them more attention or something, they would be better kids. But on the other hand I feel like I am on one of my exhaustion waves where I am more tired then normal or have less energy. And maybe Spring will help my mood.
Of course, when I am crabby I also procrastinate more.
Why is it that we keep saying over and over again that we are going to work on getting stuff done in a timely matter and being better people and yet, we still don't?
Anyways, Nick is gone again tonight.. though hopefully he wont stay out too late. And I NEED to finish my presentation!

I am not avoiding...

I am not avoiding this blog... I just find the longer it has been since I post, the harder it is for me to do so.
Had a blast this weekend scrapping with some of my SS friends.  I did 26 pages and most of them are pretty darn cute!!
I placed my CM order today so I can still be a CMC...
This week is hectic.  Nick is part of the committee planning the First Annual Westonka Horticultural Days at our church this Saturday.  Both him and I will be making presentations and having vendor booths.  This will be huge for him.. he is even making a big garden display, complete with water pond and lighting in the middle of the gym.  I don't know how he will do it, even though I have confidence in him.

And Spring is in the air!!  Glad to see the sun and chances of 50s and 60s this week and next!

Today is the day of..

Today is the day of the First annual Upper Midwest Scrapshare retreat (I had to throw in the annual - I am sure we will do this again). This is my second Scrapshare retreat.. though I do not have to fly to get to this one!
I am excited to meet even more new friends from www.scrapshare.com . We have such a great comradarie. When someone is up, we are all up; when someone is down, we are all down. And I say we have about 300 or more usual writers.. though more stop in from time to time, so that is a lot of love.
I had a choice this weekend. My CM unit is having its Memoranza and I could have gone scrapbooking with them. But I did not even bat an eyelash in deciding to go here.
So I will be in Wisconsin till Sunday. I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Blow Up

I am home from work today. Day care lady is on vacation, so I am here for my kids.
And I blew up at them... majorly.
I admit, they are frustrating me lately. Not listening, when they listen to their Dad.
I feel bad.
But in away, I am relieved, because I have had this inside of me for quite sometime.. and they got to see that Mommy can feel emotions too.
Thank goodness Nick was home.. he helped. He keeps telling them to listen to me.
I Love them.. but gosh sometimes they drive me crazy.

BlogMad!

Since I like to share all my knowledge and tips about blogs I thought I should share this site with you. Well actually I have been meaning to share for like a month but sometimes I have to be in the mood to post things here.

This site is like blog explosion... basically, you surf other people's websites through their random blog surfer deal and you get credits which brings traffic to your blog. If the link above does not work just add a comment to the comments section and I will email you an invite (you may get some bonus credits that way - though don't quote me).
And today is a perfect day to sign up because you get double credits for surfing just till the end of the day!
Also, others can vote on your blog through the following link - and if you give mine a great score I guess I get priority.

Communication

I have decided that one of my biggest pet peeves is lack of communication.
Funny, because that sometimes happens between Nick and I.
But I am talking more about lack of communication in jobs or friends or other activities.
My theory, "you can always delete an email, so feel free to bombard me".
And yes, I may not always be the best at communicating either.
But if you will try harder, so will I!

Crazy!

My last weekend was crazy.  As you know, Friday Nick went to take the Fil down to K.C.  This meant I had to rush home from work to get the kids from daycare, then proceeded to run home (well walk - Samantha can sure be slow) and let the dogs out, then go to a St. Pat's party in a neighborhood I had not been in for awhile (though I found the house without any problems).

Saturday the kids and I went to a first birthday party for Twins I know then home to wait for Daddy to come home!!  And I could not wait.. they were so crabby!!!

Sunday was church, then over to a neighbors house so Jeffrey could hang out with his girlfriend (well and so we could hang out with the parents), then back to church.  And still the kids were crabby.

And Monday, they both wake up with colds.  Went to day care but now she is off the whole week so we are each watching them a couple days.  Plus I had a Creative Memories meeting last night.  Nick has a Knights meeting tonight.  Thursday is choir practice for me and Landscape Committee for Nick.  Then Friday I take the kids over to my parents and am being picked up from there to go to a scrapbooking retreat in Wisconsin till Sunday.

Probably is a good thing I have Thursday off, because I sure have a lot to do.  And I am hoping I don't get sick in the process!

****AAAaaaaahhhhhhHHHHHHH***** my head is already spinning!!!!
Anyways, that is the short version of this past weekend!

Happy St. Pat's Day!

To the Irish by blood or just the Irish at heart, Happy St. Pat's Day!  Today shall be a fun day starting off with a pot luck at work at lunch and followed by a party later on with some people from chuch; and the bonus, dispensation so we can eat meat today during lent!

Somewhat busy weekend ahead and I have a lot to do - do you think I will get it done?  Who knows!!
I leave you with joke sent to me by a co-worker....

Irish Joke
John  O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life,  between the legs of me wife!"
That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!
He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the best toast of the night"
She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?"
John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life,  sitting in church beside me wife."
"Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said.
The  next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner.
The  man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the other night at the pub  with a toast about you, Mary."
She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised  myself. You know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he  fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come."

S.A.D.

First off, I just noticed that my last post was #250! Wow.. I guess I really cannot shut up!!!

Anyways.. living in Minnesota, most of us have a touch of Seasonal Affect Disorder in the winter. The snow, cold, and cloudiness can really get a person down. And right about now I am really feeling it. Friday it was 55 degrees and sunny. I did not need a jacket and I thought Spring was really here. Then Monday we had a snowstorm with over 1/2 a foot of snow and now today we had another snowstorm with just less then that of snow. This has also brought back highs in the twenties. Yes, I know Spring is not far off.. it is the middle of March. I just want it to be nice now. I know I am always tired, but this time of the year I feel even more so.

It is
NCAA Tournament time!! No one I am really rooting for... though I have a soft spot in my heart for North Carolina (maybe it is partially because Michael Jordan went there) and I see they are the 3rd seed in their region. Also, it is cool because Minneapolis is hosting some of the regional action again.
I went to
Let's Dish the other day. It sure was fun and easy. Though I wont be able to taste the food because it was for someone else. Nick and I are going to have to do that for ourselves really soon.
In just over a week I will be going to another scrapbooking retreat! This one is the Upper Midwest ScrapShare retreat in Wisconsin! It should be a lot of fun!!!

(I had to post this after my (IRL) friend Laura and I were talking about tickers!)
Otherwise, tomorrow Nick is supposed to be taking his Dad to Kansas City to stay with his Dad's brother and sister-in-law. So I hope they have a safe trip!

How Lucky Are You?

Well, since I cannot remember what I was going to post.. I stumbled upon this on Pamela's (plg7_flutterby) blog...
Your Luck Quotient: 61%

You have a high luck quotient.
More often than not, you've felt very lucky in your life.
You may be randomly lucky, but it's probably more than that.
Optimistic and open minded, you take advantage of all the luck that comes your way.

Interesting the findings... because growing up I always thought I had the best of luck... things just amazingly went right. Then I met Nick, the KING of bad luck. If something is going to go wrong for him it will. Well, I was hoping that my good luck would rub off on him, but am finding that his bad luck is rubbing off on me. And yes, a good Catholic does not believe in "luck" per se... it is just the idea of it.
So in celebration of St. Patrick's Day on Friday. May you have all the (good) luck in the world!

I was first intrigued by the name "Pupsickle", then I read up on her... 25, married, with a dog.. a lot like me (well except I am 26 with 3 dogs). Unlike me, she lives in Alaska in her hometown and is working on her masters.
So go check her out... :)

How Much Do You Weigh?

You Should Weigh 156

If you weigh less than this, you either have a fast metabolism or are about to gain weight.
If you weigh more than this, you may be losing a few pounds soon!

Good news .. I weigh less then this (over 30 pounds less!)... though at 5 feet and almost 2 inches.. weighing that much would be hard on me. So this is my laugh for the day.. and since I rarely post on Saturdays.. I thought some may enjoy.

"If there is anything I can do..."

Lately I feel like I have been saying, "If there is anything I can do... let me know". I have no problem helping out however I can.. I am just sad that these people are going through what they are going through.
So, anyone out there that knows me and needs anything, know that I am thinking of you, praying for you and will be there for you. I just hope that whatever you are going through is very temporary.

It is Friday, March 10...

You know I am being lazy and/or tired when I don't even want to do something on the computer... whether it be email someone back, update my blog with more then text or download/upload pictures. But that is just the way I feel today at this moment. I think some of it is because of this cold and flu season. I have had a couple co-workers out for a couple days at various points of the week, and right now I feel like my body is fighting something. Kind of feels like a cold - which I would prefer over any form of the flu - but still, I have been getting so many colds lately from either work or the kids, that is gets annoying.

Thanks to all for responding to my last post (well except the one troll who has been delorted - deleted to those that have ever seen StrongBad at homestarrunner.com). I need to really process the suggestions and think about who I want to be and what I want to do.

At least this is the weekend, and I hope it is a heck of a lot better then last weekend. We have some plans, but I really think I am going to not do much this weekend. Though I HAVE to get all my Creative Memories information together for taxes. I would hate it if I held up the process.

Last night I had planned to take Jeffrey to get his hair cut - I just could not stand to look at his cut job - and then see if I could get one too. So I took him to choir practice which ended at 8pm. Well I had looked up Great Clips online and they said their store hours were till 9, perfect since it is not too far from the church (or my home). I got there and the door was locked but there were people inside, so I looked at the door and they said they closed at 8.. but of course they just avoided looking at me when I walked up to the store. Well Jeffrey started to get upset because he was looking forward to this. So I said, s***w them.. we will go check out City Looks across the street. Well, it just so happens that they were open till 9 and had some stylists available. So we both got our hair cut. For him it is very short and cute (though would have looked a little worse if another stylist did not step in to assist).. and I just got a trim because I have been liking my long hair lately. Now of course it probably cost us twice as much.. I don't care. I wanted to stick it to Great Clips and do plan to complain.

Of course it does not help that much of my town closes down early.
So I shall take some pics this weekend of us. He did seem to have a lot of fun and was wondering who would win in getting their hair done! He did - till the one stepped in to help - so then I won!

Have a good TGIF all and a good weekend!

Not Me

I am not the person I want to be in some respects. Mostly when it comes to things related to jobs. I am not assertive, not convincing, too wishy-washy... In my FT job, this translates to me being upset at times and b****ing to everyone but who I should be. In CM, this has caused me to want to be a leader but not take the steps to do so. In reality, I know I am so much smart then "where I am at" (figuratively and physically).. this has also led me to be quite upset with myself at times. I cannot imagine what kind of mess I would be if it was not for my wonderful family (dh, kids, parents) and friends.

So, I want to change this... in a way I feel I need someone to sit me down and give me a "boot camp" on this or maybe tell me a 12 step program or some book to read or something...

Now, my ? is... is there something like this out there? Or is it just something in me that I cannot seem to "get out into the open"? Can I break through this lack of motivation to be successful?

Any opinions?

Ok.. so I saw this on Veronica's blog who saw it on Dani's blog, and of course I had to do it.
Copied from V (I hope you don't mind!):
The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.
So here you go...

RIP Kirby Puckett

I debated whether to even write about this because I don't intend to talk about deaths of people in my blog unless they are close family and friends. But in away, we were all close to Kirby Puckett.
On Monday night, the greatest baseball player to ever wear a Minnesota Twins uniform died from a stroke. Leaving behind so many people that loved him, so many memories that will not die just because he did.
Just the previous night we learned of his stroke... and I just knew in my heart that we had lost him.
I have never been a big baseball fan. The game is too slow for me and when I played, I would just get hit in the head with a ball! But I am a Minnesota Team fan... so of course, I always rooted for the Twins. Growing up, my family and I went to some games every year.. and we had the pleasure of hearing the (now deceased) P.A. Announcer, Bob Casey yell, "the centerfielder, number 34, Kiiirrrrbbbyyy Puckkkeetttttt!" I watched my brother try to collect every Kirby baseball card he could find. While I was not watching the '91 World Series when he made that home run to take us to game 7 and the eventual win, I remeber being at a Bar or Bat Mitzvah and getting updates from the bartenders little radio and how all the kids rejoiced when we heard the news. And I remember the only time I was within a couple feet of him at the Minneapolis Sportsmen Show (it was either 99, 00, or 01), how I wish I would have asked for his autograph.
I am sad that life got so tough towards the end, and that we doubted him, and his character. But I will remember the goodness. The kids (and adults) touched by his kindness, generosity and spirit.
He is quoted as saying something like cherish each day because you never know what can happen.. I hope we can all take that to heart.
Goodbye.. you will be missed.

Weekend incident - part 2

Sunday rolls around. I do the early shift at the craft fair. I come home to get ready for Alpha at church. Walk in the door, Nick is cleaning the bathroom! Really working at it too (I normally clean it but don't always use a lot of elbow grease). So I sit and rest for a little while.. till he needs me to hand him the toilet brush... ok... since I am up I start changing the kids diapers when he beckons me and I hear a gagging noise.. well I knew something was wrong...then all of a sudden I felt like the house smelled really strongly of bleach. Well, Nick decided to mix toilet bowl cleaner with bleach and also got some of it in his throat. So I called poison control and they said it is just more of an irritant.. let him get fresh air and water and he will eventually feel better. So I am running around opening up windows when he says, "the kids shouldn't be in here..get their shoes and I will bring them into the (heated, not connected) garage." Ok, I do that. Then he says, "maybe you should get out too." Ok.. but I have to get our dog and my fil and his dog first. So we go hang out in the garage for a little bit but we were getting hungry - since we had to miss our church thing and that includes dinner - and so Nick went over to our wonderful neighbors house and she said she had extra food and a warm place for us to be. So we hung out there for 4-5 hours. We ended up back home after 10 and the house still smelled, but not as bad. We did try to stay out of that bathroom (went meant no shower Sunday night), but all seems to be well now.
Needless to say, I feel I had the weekend from hell!

Weekend incident - part 1

So, as you know, I spent most of my weekend at a craft show. On Saturday I had just gotten there about an hour previously and dh calls me up, "You wanted to go shopping right?" Me, "well, why?" Him, "well the kids were playing so nice in their room.. so I though I would get some work done on the computer.. and then all of a sudden I heard the toilet flush. Jeffrey had been doing so well with wearing his underwear and I thought he had just gone and taken care of everything. But I did go look... well... um... Jeffrey got the scissors from the drawer and gave Samantha a hair cut and himself a little too!" Me, "WHAT! NO!".. and this is what my sweet girl looks like:

Most people are laughing it off, but I am still devestated. I ended up picking a hat and some headbands... but the poor thing looks so bad. Jeffrey said he did it to get the hair out of her eyes... but it still looks so tragic. And he ended up cutting a chunk off in front of his too... but that seems more fixable. Needless to say, we drilled it in him that he under no circumstances should ever cut anyones hair.

Potty Elmo?

Anyone out there heard of Potty Elmo and have used it for your kids? I was just reading dooce.com and she was saying how her daughter loves it. And I was thinking that Jeffrey and Samantha may enjoy it and it may speed up the potty training process.
Anyone have an opinion?
Thanks.

What Font Are You?

arial
Arial - You're pretty normal. That's certainly not

a bad thing, as a lot of people like you.

CS Recap

Ok... so I know people are wondering how the craft show went...
It was ok... a lot of sitting around. Nothing scheduled, hardly anything sold. I did get some names though.. and I directed people to my website. I really hope I get some nibbles this month but do plan to follow up.
And we (myself and the other CMC) ended up splitting the weekend and I really think that worked out.. there was not enough traffic to warrant both of us there and we each had things to do this weekend.

Of course my weekend ended up getting really crazy... but they need separate posts.... stay tuned..

Craft show

Friday, Saturday and Sunday I am doing a craft show for Creative Memories. If you so choose to, please think of me and pray that this is a great investment of my time and money. My CM biz is so non-existant, I am afraid that if this is not successful, I wont have a business.
This also means I may not be blogging for a couple days - take heart - I will return.
Thanks.

Renter #4

Another week - another renter..

I think some of you will really enjoy looking at Dawn's blog. She is a wife, mother, cat lover (and owner), and crafter (gardener, crotcheter, quilter and candle maker). So go check her out!

March is here

Well I feel I should post something.. I did not post yesterday for no real reason beyond not too much to say.
Nick was sick with the 24 hour "thing" yesterday - poor baby - he feels a lot better this morning though.  I just hope that we don't get it because we all have had it somewhat the past month.  Nothing like not wanting to go to bed because you know the room is filled with icky germs (even if I slept there the night before when I had a better chance of catching it).

Today is Ash Wednesday.  I still find it difficult to give up meat on Fridays during lent because we are such carnivores in our house.  And today we cannot have meat either.  I tried to think of something to do for lent... give up the internet?  TV?  Exercise more?  Meditate daily?  I have no clue though really what to do.  Is anyone reading doing anything special?

I just went and had fun on my new Creative Memories website (link to it is on the sidebar - right at the top).  I sure hope it helps to bring in some business.

And yesterday was the last day of meteorological winter!  I just hope that means that we can start warming up.  January was really nice here in MN but February had some cold days.  And we always seem to get a mid month snowstorm in March called the high school state tournament blizzard.

I think it is just about lunch time... at least my stomach says that.
